Application: Measuring the bearing outer raceway diameter of their products.
Problem: Employees were spending an excessive amount of time using traditional measuring tools to check the outer raceway diameters of their products.
Solution: Triple E’s engineers were tasked with designing a fast, inexpensive tool that could be used to check a bearing outer raceway diameter at the machine with a simple Go/No-Go acceptance of the part. This checking fixture allows an operator to check the bearing raceway diameter in a matter of seconds and has easily replaceable parts once surfaces have been worn. This checking fixture allowed Triple E to use their in house capabilities to CNC mill the base, turn the pins and checking plug on a CNC lathe, and grind the pins to their final tolerance after heat treat.
